Punta Gorda means "Fat Point"  in Spanish, almost like an island protruding out into the Harbor. Plenty of sunshine where our average temperature in the winter is in the mid 70 degree range. Better than that below zero weather up north in these winter months. Palm trees swaying, sun shining, all you need is that hammock and you could be here enjoying all of this warm sunny weather. We are re-building and we have a brand new event center, some new restaurants and more opening including the Crab Shack in Laishley Marina, new parking garage to accomodate everyone who loves to dine out in our fabulous downtown area, wonderful Fisherman's Village with it # 1 Marina, the new Wyvern Hotel with its breath taking views along with the new Shereton Hotel going to be finished this year.
